Info: Praise & Punishment, a show by Joel Starkey and Toni Gallo, is a mixture of paintings, drawings, and multimedia artwork. Joel's work is a mixture of various media including painting, cassette tape drawings, and portraits of personalities once in the spotlight now in the shadows. Toni's figurative oil paintings use wish bones and candy, medals and awards to identify a measure of success or outcomes based on luck. Both artists work speaks of the way society provides recognition or creates disenchantment by creating labels and characterizations.
