Info:Tran Dan belongs to neither the Western nor the Vietnamese tradition of painting. He uses Western modern techniques like surrealism, pop art, street art and myths and legends, mostly of Vietnamese origins, to ask rhetorical questions about contemporary life. He calls his paintings 'visual Zen koans'.
